Still Interested in Participating in the Survey?

I've started working on the information gathered from birth parents in the survey I'm conducting regarding birth parents who go on to (or continue to) parent children after placement. I e-mailed a large group of birth parents who said that they were interested in participating but due to time constraints, emergencies and so on, I do not have the number of responses that I would like to in order to fairly represent all different views, situations and adoption types. So, I'm making one last call for participation!

I've posted the survey on the Birthparent Support forum, asking for participation. If you'd like to get involved, I welcome you with open arms. Your adoption can be open, semi-open, closed, in-family and any other possible variation of adoption. The only constraint is that you have gone on to parent (or continue to) another child post-placement.

If you are not a member of the forums and don't feel like joining just to participate in my survey, please feel free to copy/paste the survey and e-mail it to me at firstparentblogger@adoptionmail.com. If e-mailing me a survey, please put "PARENTING SURVEY" in your subject line. (Yes, in caps lock, please!)

The results I have found thus far are quite interesting. A wide range of emotional responses to the act of parenting another child have been presented, all of which offer up an interesting and insightful look into the heart and mind of a birth parent.

The survey results will begin on February 1st and run through the 6th (or 7th). I'm creating my own February Sweeps campain on the blogs! (Remember: I come from the broadcasting world!) Be sure to come back, even if you do not participate, during that first week of February for what is already proving to be an honest, not-always-easy but definitely needed look into the issues that birth parents face when growing their families.

Thanks again for your help and support!
