I would love to take a peak at your ip address truth. Remember - people have styles in their writing they're not even aware of.

If I'm wrong I apologize, but I don't think I am.

jenna:

I totally support your right to post. As far as keeping your posts alive in the blogosphere...GREAT! It's important for all views to be heard. Just because I disagree with your opinion doesn't mean you don't have the right to express it and also doesn't mean I don't have the right to comment.

Just as those who agree with your opinions are edified by your blogs, so too those who agree with, in whole or part, my point of view may benefit from the comments I leave.

I thought the whole point of a blog was to share information and, often, information from several points of view. I particularly thought the point of adoptionblogs.com was to share information and opinions on adoption. Yes, the discussions get heated and we all have our boiling point. So too is the issue for politics, religion, parenting, and a thousand other close-to-the-heart issues. If no one talks for fear of offense, what is the point?

You seem to have me pegged as one of the "jenna-haters"; a term you posted previously. That's too bad, because I can't think of a single instance in which I said or implied that I hate you. For the record, I don't hate you....I don't even know you. I disagree, heartily, with some of what you write and agree with other things. I think I've indicated that before.

As far as letting a topic die...some posts here have up to 82 comments. Tennis, anyone?

Ya know, you don't have to read or... comment! I didn't demand that you sign the petition or write letters to the legislators involved in the process. I offered information for those who would be interested. Your words say that you are uninterested yet your continued concern over the issue and the inability to either move on or let it die... because every time you comment, you're giving this post and this topic vitally needed hits that only keep it alive in the blogosphere, so ... Thank you for your time, even though it's not what you intended. ;)
Jenna:

"and I'll bother to listen to you."

I think you're defeating your own purpose of "education" by being snotty. If you don't like what truth or I said, or if you think there's a different way we should look at it, there would be a better way to go about it and, possibly, gain a few signatures in the process.
"truth;" present to me an opposing side of this story, complete with scanned letters like Cody's family has, and I'll bother to listen to you.

Jenna, I am sorry if the term "putative father" offends you. Legally that is what this man is. Based on the limited information on that website, it's hard to call him anything else.
I guess I don't understand why his rights should supercede everyone else's in this issue. Especially since we don't have all of the information. You have to admit that the website is completely biased. Reading through the guestbook archives however, you get a little more information.
I can't sign a petition based on information on the site. Good thing I don't have to play Solomon here, that is what the courts are for.

I guess I feel a little uncomfortable signing a petition for a specific circumstance on only general information.

"truth;" Even just referring to him as a "putative father" proves that you have ABSOLUTELY no desire to protect father's rights. Such a shame.

You are only hearing one side of this story and you can't very well make an informed judgement on this case . Remember innocent until proven guilty? It applies here also. I have to wonder why this mother was so adament about this guy having nothing to do with this baby.
The putative father has his court date. He'll get his chance to tell his side of the story.
