A new year! How exciting! Do I have anything new planned for the birth-first parent blog? Yes and no. What's that mean?

I am stealing from my own ideas. Well, not stealing. I'm just continuing on with some things that I did this year. For example, I will be continuing to review one adoption-related book per month. Hopefully I will get all twelve months in and not get caught off guard at the end of the year. (Like this year!) I will also, in short order, be finishing up the Post-Adoption Contact Agreement series. I'm sure I will continue to feature more traditions, love-y posts on Thursdays and hit on important adoption related news.

But do I have anything new up my sleeve? Always!

I will be having a monthly blog feature. While I have previously highlighted blogs based on individual topics that were timely to this blog, I am going to be featuring blogs solely by birth mothers based on their whole-blog-ness. (Sure, it's a word!) This feature will most likely fall near the end of the month. Or maybe near the beginning of the month. Or perhaps the middle? I'll keep you on your toes.

Also, while I've made good use of the forums in the past for combining blog topics and forum discussions, I will be branching out into this a bit more! I want to spark conversations and then write about them and, vice versa, I want to write something and then spark conversations about what I've written! As some of our readership and forum participation overlaps, but not all, it will be interesting to see the wide array of opinion that comes from some of this outreach.

I'll also be starting a special series on reform in February. Why February? In the broadcasting world, February is all about sweeps and what brings in more hits than the controversial topic of adoption reform! (Actually, I just needed to give myself a month to research!)

All that said, is there anything particular that you would like to see on the birth-first parent blog this year? Leave me a comment!

I meant to post this yesterday but I got snowed in at my parents' home! I hope you had a fabulous New Year Day! And safe!
