This story struck so many cords. I placed my daughter in July 1976, married in 1977, my son was born at the end of 1977. I do believe that I married to once again become a respectable member of society. Although I am still married to the same man, it has not been easy as he refuses to allow me to tell our sons aoubt my daughter. I have searched the internet looking for help and support but to no avail, anyone out there experiencing the same problem??

Jenna,
Thank you for writting this post. I am starting the adoption process and trying to look at this from both angles. I am planning on an International adoption so it will pretty much be a closed adoption. I feel sad for both my future child and his or her birth parents because of the continued relationship that my not exist past the birth of my child.
I think that on one level I can relate to birth parents because as a young adult I lost a pregnancy. I have never been pregnant again. This took quite a bit of time for me to put this experience into prespective before I could make the decision to adopt a child.
I am new to the adoption language and I am sure that I will offend someone along the way. Please keep in your heart the love that I feel for birth parents. Without birthparents I would not be able to experience the wonders of being a mother.
