I can curl up in bed, put the song on repeat and allow myself the cathartic tears that cleanse. On good days, when I am making progress in my healing, I can find a tune that makes me think of the Munchkin and still smile. Even on the best of days, during visits and the like, music plays... more

Technology Brings Us TogetherContinuing on this Sunday morning in my thankful series, I am thankful for the wonders of technology. Without the many things that we take for granted, the relationship between D and myself wouldn't be what it is today. Yes, phones and letters or packages sent via snail mail are wonderful. But for the day to day communication, I am thankful tht I live in the age of super-cool technology.

Talkin' on the Phone to BrendaBrenda Romanchik is an awesome woman. An awesome Mother. An awesome birth mother. And an awesome resource to birthmothers. Her website has provided me (and plenty of other birth parents) with words of understanding, clarification and compassion. She's been there and done that when it comes to Open Adoption. She's walked the walk, talked the talk and lived the life. Her personal experiences and willingness to share them have been helpful to me in my own journey.

I celebrate my nerdiness with gusto!

One of the first books that helped me in my adoption journey was James L. Gritter's book Lifegivers:... more

Look in the Munchkin BoxTo go along with the theme of Love Thursday, my first stop in my Thankful Series is pictures. I am thankful, beyond measure, for the crazy amount of pictures that J & D have taken the time to send me. For the pictures that they have gone out of their way to take of me and the Munchkin. For capturing milestones for me that I would have otherwise completely missed. For understanding what... more

NaBloPoMo ParticipantIn accordance with the mandated rules by NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month), I need to write one blog post per day. While this isn't usually a problem, I have started a series that will run for the entire month on this blog. It is called the Thankful Series. Every single day of this thirty-day month, I will come up with something that I am thankful for that includes the subject... more
