
Love Thursday joins us again. Sometimes sharing pictures, moments in time, isn't easy for me. This picture happens to be one of those times. This was the first time I held my daughter, well after her birth. Sadly, our hospital staff was not educated on anything related to open adoption and I didn't hold the Munchkin until after J, after D, after my Mom and after my best friend. Simply looking at this picture makes me cry. Writing about it will be a challenge. I'll attempt to keep it brief but I imagine myself going on and on...
This picture is now framed in Nick's bedroom along with another lovely gem from our August 2006 visit and trip to the Jersey Shore. On our visit this past August, Munchkin and I got to spend a lot of time together. This was a new and wonderful thing for the both of us. In this picture, we are sitting outside on my last day, playing with sidewalk chalk. After she saw that I traced my hand with the chalk, she wanted me to trace her hand. She sat down right in front of me, cuddled in close. Again, thankfully, D was busy snapping pictures left and right.
