I proved to myself and the world that I am not a writer for One Tree Hill last night. They didn't unroll more about the second adoption storyline. I feared some big dramatic storyline in which she unethically adopted the baby but they didn't take it that route. Then the season ended and I thought that was the last of the adoption storyline.

A friend of mine alerted me to something said by the star of Brooke Knows Best on VH1, Brooke Hogan. Apparently, for an upcoming episode, Brooke is contemplating going back to school which would involve leaving her music career or, at the very least, putting it on hold. The previews for this episode are hitting on this particular sentence.

I could have spit nails at the television. I will admit to not catching the whole episode because I kind of forgot that it was on. But I caught over half of the premiere of the "new" 90210. As a young girl, I watched the original Beverly Hills, 90210 every week into my teens (when I ditched the last season or so for Dawson's Creek, of course). I didn't have much hope for the new show. I have a guilty pleasure. It's a teen angst drama that goes by the name of One Tree Hill. Of course, they graduated high school last season and to keep things interesting and fresh, they hit the fast-forward button on time and this season features the characters four years later, adjusting to adulthood with just as much angst as ever. One was recently left at the alter! The couple that married in high school is having problems! Someone kidnapped the kid! Oh! The drama!

And the latter is all that television, movies and writings about television and movies have made me do for the past few months. Can't a woman get a break without hiding under a rock? I'm a pretty boring person. Being on bed rest only further assures that I will be at home, on the couch, at nine o'clock on this Saturday evening. However, a recent blurb article has just determined what I will be watching on my television (hopefully with a child fast asleep in his bed). "Facing Reality: Choices" will premiere on the Fox News Channel at 9 o'clock tomorrow evening. (Saturday, October 26)

Most portrayals of adoption stories show scant evidence of any research or input from experts. Last Sunday's "Cold Case" was different.
